It Became Rather Cultured, If You Catch My Meaning

Sun Jul 12, 2009, 8:48 PM

Turns out I didn't have computer access for those ten days, my bad. I had some weird-ass/awesome dreams, though, so it's all good. I'm still not home, but I'm somewhere different, and I can be a nerd on the internet. Cool beans.

One of the peculiar things I have learned while dogsitting is that NO ONE I have sat for seems to own a teakettle. That, or they hide it before I come over. Maybe they bury it, to be sure I don't know. It's certainly not anywhere in the kitchen, that's for damn sure. I need to start bringing my own.

(Another one is: when I have computer access, it's mostly laptops, and never any mice, which if the proportion is true to the majority of the older population probably explains why they find computers so goddamn frustrating. Just a thought. Maybe I'm just used to the heavy, desktop, unholy-tangle-of-cords, turret-voiced, powerhouse that is Cromwell, my computer. Yes, I named it. I named my iPod, too, it's Beatrix. I clearly need to get out more.)

(Speaking of mice, we have extra under our kitchen sink, which apparently they visit to have parties and go to the toilet.)

I am so very, very tired. Not sleepy, as I am unbelivably wired on caffeine (delivered in cold form, thank you Coca-Cola Co.) right now, just exhausted.

I cannot wait to get back to my tablet you guys oh my god I am so serious. Ten days is a

very

long

time,

and I have quite a few things that I am very eager to make all tidy and coloured.

And when I get home, I can finally put fish in that empty tank!

That's more than enough rambling for now, I think.

I know! My mother uses her crappy half-crippled laptop with memory hogging programs like AOL (not the instant messenger, the PROGRAM...from 1998...), and Norton I-like-to-rape-your-memory-and-processor-time Antivirus, and then wonders why the world of computers so foreign, and unforgiving, and magically illogical...on her laptop...thats crappy...and crippled. Oy.
